Get paid for tickets

In the event's Settings, open Tickets & payments, then Getting paid. Switch on Cash at the counter, UPI to you directly, Your own payment link or Online payment through your own gateway. Money goes straight to you, with no commission. UPI, links and online payment start once Qwait approves you and the event.

You choose how buyers pay. You can switch on more than one way, and buyers pick when they book.

Steps

  1. Open the event and tap Settings, then Tickets & payments.
  2. Scroll to Getting paid and switch on the ways you want (see below).
  3. Tap Save.

The ways to get paid

WayHow it worksTickets arrive
Cash at the counterBuyers book on their phone and pay you at the counter. When you tap Mark paid in Bookings
UPI to you directlyBuyers pay your UPI ID and enter the transaction ID (UTR).When you tap Confirm in Bookings
Your own payment linkInstamojo, PayPal, a Paytm or PhonePe business link, or any payment page. Buyers pay there and enter the reference. When you tap Confirm in Bookings
Online paymentBuyers pay by UPI, card or netbanking on your own Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU or Stripe account.Straight away

These send buyers' money straight to you, so Qwait checks you and the event first. This keeps buyers safe from fake events. Cash at the counter and free tickets work straight away.

  1. Open My Profile and fill in Organiser verification: your legal name, mobile and address. Upload your ID proof, plus Organisation proof if you're a business, club or trust. Tap Save.
  2. Open the event's Tickets & payments. Under Getting paid, upload an Event proof, such as your venue booking or a permission letter.
  3. Tap Send for approval. Your organiser details go with it, so you only send once. We usually reply within 1 working day, and we WhatsApp you (and email you) when we decide.

If we need something else, you'll see Changes needed and a note from us. Fix it and tap Send again.

Once enough of your approved events have ended, you become a Trusted organiser. Your events are then approved the moment you send them, and buyers see the badge on your ticket page.

Connecting your own payment gateway

  1. Under Online payment, pick your gateway.
  2. Copy your API keys from the gateway's dashboard. For Razorpay: Account & Settings → API Keys → Generate Key.
  3. Paste them in and tap Connect (for example Connect Razorpay). Your secret is stored encrypted and never shown again.

To pass the gateway's charge on to buyers, switch on Buyers pay the fee and set the Fee %.

When a buyer enters their transaction ID, the booking waits for you. Check the ID against your bank or UPI app, then tap Confirm on the booking in Bookings, or Reject if no payment came. The buyer's tickets turn valid on their phone by themselves. Bookings that aren't paid within 30 minutes expire.

Questions

Why can't buyers see my UPI option?

Your event hasn't been approved yet. Open Tickets & payments → Getting paid to see where it's at.

Does Qwait take a cut of my ticket money?

No. Buyers pay you directly, and Qwait never holds your money. Each ticket uses one credit. See How credits work.

A buyer says they paid, but there's no transaction ID.

Ask for the UTR or reference shown in their payment app. Check it in your bank statement before you approve.

  • Create an event and sell tickets — Tap + and then New event. Enter the name, venue and dates, and tap Create event. Then add a ticket, choose how you get paid and switch Tickets on sale on. Share the sale link or its QR code, and people book on their phone.
  • Fix: I paid, but it isn't confirmed — Payments complete even if the payment window closed or you switched to your UPI app, because the payment gateway tells Qwait directly. Wait a few minutes and reopen the page. Still not there? Raise a request under Payment or billing and pick the payment.
  • Find your event ticket again — Your tickets are on the booking page you saw after paying. Open it again from the WhatsApp message or link you saved, or under My Turns → Event tickets if you were signed in. Show the QR code at the entrance.
